LLDPE
(C2H4)n
LLDPE butene; LLDPE hexene; and LLDPE octene.
LLDPE has a broad range of applications due to its attractive mechanical properties and low cost. The greatest demand for LLDPE resins are associated with film and sheet end-use, representing most of the total production. When compared to blown films of LDPE, LLDPE films exhibit tremendous toughness, dart impact, and puncture resistance. LLDPE is used mainly in films and sheets (trash bags, packaging for food and textiles); injection molding (garbage cans, industrial containers, pails, food containers, lids, and closures); blow molding (bottles); rotational molding (storage tanks, shipping containers, and outdoor furniture); pipe and tubing (medical applications); and wire and cable insulation (electrical and telephone industry).
