About Stainless Steel. Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil is a stainless steel product produced by passing an unheated metal piece through rolls, resulting in a sheet or strip with improvements in surface imperfections and mechanical properties, with little occurrence of defects such as seams and slivers according to the process conditions. Cold-rolling is used for thickness reduction and can be associated with other improvement steps, such as annealing, tempering, and edging, depending on the application of the final product, and an already rolled stainless steel plate can undergo the same process to achieve a further reduction and properties enhancement. At the end of the process, the metal sheet is coiled and prepared to be marketed.
The coils are heavy, and this weight is concentrated. Because of that, it must be shipped carefully in a way to prevent straining or otherwise damaging the shipping container, whether transport is carried out by ship, truck or train. Also, attention is needed in the packaging, stowage, and lashing operations.
The uses and applications of Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil are austenitic stainless steel; ferritic stainless steel; martensitic stainless steel; and precipitation hardening stainless steel.
Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil is vastly used as a raw material for a massive variety of oxidation-resistant deep draw parts and finished tubes. Some examples of its applications can be in household appliances, furniture, lockers, water heaters, filing cabinets, fan blades, construction, and others.
