Price Dynamics. The Stainless Steel price in United States decreased during September 2018 to 3,940 USD per metric ton, which represents a decline of 6% compared to the previous month’s value. On a year-over-year basis, Stainless Steel prices in United States decreased modestly by 0.8%. Meanwhile, in Brazil, the average price of Stainless Steel amounted to 2,640 USD per metric ton, from 2,530 USD per metric ton one year earlier. On a month-over-month basis, the Stainless Steel price in Brazil is 5% lower than the price one month before.
The price of Stainless Steel in Turkey rose throughout September 2018, reaching 2,780 USD per metric ton. The price in Turkey is 7% higher than the average price in the previous month and 10% higher than the average price one year before. In contrast, Stainless Steel prices in India increased modestly during September 2018, reaching 2,520 USD per metric ton, which means a rise of 2% from the previous month’s price and a rise of 18% from the previous year’s price.
The Stainless Steel prices in Italy experienced a modest rise of 40 USD per metric ton from the prior month's price, to 3,870 USD per metric ton. Such price movement in Italy meant a rise of 1% on a monthly basis and a rise of 15% on a yearly basis. On the other hand, in September 2018, the Stainless Steel price in Poland witnessed a rise of 410 USD per metric ton when compared against the previous month's price, to 4,190 USD per metric ton. The September 2018 price in Poland is 20% higher than the price one year before.
In Taiwan, the average price of Stainless Steel was 3,600 USD per metric ton on September 2018 – a little increase of 50 USD per metric ton, or 1%, compared with the previous month. On a year-over-year basis, the Stainless Steel price in Taiwan is 4% higher than the price one year before.

About Stainless Steel. Cold Drawn Bar is a long stainless steel product (relative to its cross-section) available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, produced by cold drawing a hot-wrought bar. It is more versatile than turning as it can be applied to hexagons, triangles, and other complex geometric shapes. On the other hand, some surface imperfections may occur, depending on the surface characteristics of the wrought bar. Cold Drawn Bar represents the most traded cold-finished stainless steel product, having excellent mechanical and dimensional properties.
The transports used for bars depend on several factors as the location, weight of the bars, and others. These transports can be: rail, truck and ship.
The uses and applications of Cold Drawn Bar may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Cold Drawn Bar are regular quality; cold-heading quality (internal soundness, uniform chemical composition, and freedom from detrimental surface imperfections); and axle shaft quality (not machined or less removal of surface imperfections).
Cold Drawn Bar can be used in machined parts production, such as axles, transmissions, steering, suspensions, etc., solid and hollow shapes production, and as cylinders and pins for construction machinery.
