Hydrogen
Hydrogen (also known as H2) is an important chemical feedstock, mainly applied in the manufacture of ammonia and methanol, and for hydroprocessing operations in petroleum refineries. Also, since H2 is an energy carrier, it has been considered for stationary power and transportation applications. Hydrogen is produced on a commercial scale primarily from steam reforming and partial oxidation of natural gas, coal, coke, or resid, and electrolysis of water. Hydrogen is also a by-product from the production of gasoline and chemicals such as ethylene, styrene and MTBE.

Capital Investment & Operating Cost of Hydrogen Plants

Hydrogen (also known as H2) is an important chemical feedstock, mainly applied in the manufacture of ammonia and methanol, and for hydroprocessing operations in petroleum refineries. Also, since H2 is an energy carrier, it has been considered for stationary power and transportation applications. Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Hydrogen production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (2019/20).

Hydrogen via Natural Gas Steam Reforming - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E11A
Economic analysis of Hydrogen production from natural gas in the USA using a steam reforming process.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   99 pages   Starting at $899

Hydrogen via Natural Gas Partial Oxidation - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E12A
Techno-economic study of Hydrogen production from natural gas in the USA. Differently from the process analyzed in the report “Hydrogen E11A”, in this analysis, Hydrogen is produced via a partial oxidation process.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   97 pages   Starting at $899

Hydrogen via Light Naphtha Reforming - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E21A
The process examined in this report is the same presented in the report “Hydrogen E11A”, with the exception that the raw material used is light naphtha.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   101 pages   Starting at $899

Hydrogen via Water Electrolysis - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E31A
Economics of Hydrogen production using a water electrolysis process in the USA.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   101 pages   Starting at $899

Hydrogen Production from Coal Gasification - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E41A
This report presents the economics of Hydrogen production from coal gasification in the USA.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   101 pages   Starting at $1,099

Hydrogen Production from Wood Chips - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E51A
Similarly to the report “Hydrogen E41A”, this study also examines Hydrogen production via a gasification process. However, in this case, wood chips are used as feedstock.

Analysis Basis: USA   |   2019 Q1   |   101 pages   Starting at $1,099

Hydrogen Production from Vaccumm Residue - Cost Analysis | Hydrogen E61A
Feasibility study of Hydrogen production from vacuum residue in the USA using a non-catalytic partial oxidation process.
