Butene (a.k.a. Butenes, Butylene) refers to a range of linear isomeric olefins (1-butene, cis-2-butene, trans-2-butene). It a colorless, flammable mixture, insoluble in water, but soluble in most organic compounds. The isomers hardly occur naturally and have been known since the end of the nineteenth century. They are usually coproduced as a single mixture and are formed as byproducts of petroleum cracking for gasoline manufacture or catalytic dehydrogenation of butanes. For this reason, butenes production grew rapidly with the growth of cracking processes.
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Butene production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2019).
