Carbon Steel Price Outlook

Carbon Steel Price Outlook. The price of Hot Rolled CS Coil (United States) decreased during September 2025 to 894 USD per metric ton, which represents a slight decline of 3% compared to the previous month’s value. On a year-over-year basis, the prices of Hot Rolled CS Coil (United States) increased significantly by 15%. Meanwhile, the average price of Hot Rolled CS Coil (China) amounted to 477 USD per metric ton, from 440 USD per metric ton one year earlier. On a month-over-month basis, the price of Hot Rolled CS Coil (China) is 0.8% lower than the price one month before.

The price of Hot Rolled CS Coil (Southeast Asia) declined throughout September 2025, reaching 523 USD per metric ton.  The price is 6% lower than the average price in the previous month and 9% lower than the average price one year before. In contrast, the prices of Hot Rolled CS Coil (Middle East) increased modestly during September 2025, reaching 503 USD per metric ton, which means a rise of 0.4% from the previous month’s price and a decline of 16% from the previous year’s price. 

The prices of Hot Rolled CS Coil (Europe) experienced a modest rise of 24 USD per metric ton from the prior month's price, to 675 USD per metric ton. Such price movement meant a rise of 4% on a monthly basis and a rise of 10% on a yearly basis.
