About Reinforcement Bar

About Reinforcement Bar. Reinforcement Bar is a hot-rolled iron or steel bar comprising a variety of sizes, geometries, and compositions. Due to the hot-rolling process, surface seams and laps are the most common surface imperfections, in such a way that purchasers make adequate allowances for their removal. Because these bars are widely employed in concrete buildings to improve tensile strength, their surface is usually ribbed to improve bonding, although mild bars with plain surfaces may be used at expansion and contraction joints.

Reinforcement Bar Handling. Generally, rebar is transported in bundles and secured to the bed of a flatbed trailer. This must be placed on top of a raised non-metallic platform. In addition, moisture must be avoided and the rebar covered with a thick protective canvas.

Reinforcement Bar Uses. The uses and applications of Reinforcement Bar may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Reinforcement Bar are grades (minimum yield strength in kilopounds per square inch (KSI)) of 40, 60, 75, 80, and 100.
