About Diammonium Phosphate. Diammonium Phosphate (a.k.a. DAP, Diammonium Hydrogen Phosphate) is an important ammonium phosphate salt, widely used as a fertilizer all over the world. Among phosphate-based fertilizers, DAP stands out by having excellent physical properties and high nutrient content.

Diammonium Phosphate Handling. Diammonium Phosphate should be stored in cool, dry and ventilated area. It must be protected from moisture. DAP is transported in bulk, in 50 kg bags and in 1,000 kg - 1,200 kg big bags.

Diammonium Phosphate Production. Since the 1960s, when ammonium phosphate fertilizers became available, Diammonium Phosphate quickly became the main phosphate-based fertilizer. It is produced by combining phosphoric acid with ammonia, in such a way that different manufacturing routes are related to different sources of such raw materials. Raw materials and the respective production processes employed in the manufacturing of Diammonium Phosphate are listed below.

  • Ammonia + phosphoric acid (salt formation)

Diammonium Phosphate Uses. The uses and applications of Diammonium Phosphate may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Diammonium Phosphate are commercial/fertilizer grade (18% N, 46% P2O5) and food grade (99% minimum purity).
