ICC - Process Overview Text:
Product

HMDA. Hexamethylenediamine is a diamine primarily used in the production of nylon and other polyamides. It acts as a monomer that polymerizes with dicarboxylic acids to form strong, durable materials. Hexamethylenediamine is produced from adiponitrile through hydrogenation and is stored as a liquid. Besides nylon production, it is also used in coatings, adhesives, and resins, where it enhances the structural integrity and performance of polymers.

Raw Material

Adiponitrile. Adiponitrile is an organic compound used as a precursor to nylon 6,6, an important polymer for textiles, plastics, and automotive applications. Its role in producing high-strength materials is critical to multiple industries. Adiponitrile is synthesized through the electrochemical hydrodimerization of acrylonitrile and is stored as a liquid. Its importance in the production of durable, high-performance materials makes it a key industrial chemical.
