This report presents an up-to-date, detailed cost analysis of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) bimodal production from polymer grade (PG) ethylene and 1-hexene using a gas-phase process. The process examined is similar to LyondellBasell Spherilene process. In this plant, ethylene and 1-hexene are submitted to a gas phase process. These olefins are copolymerized using in two fluidized-bed reactors in series, yielding HDPE bimodal polymer.
