Synthesis Gas. Synthesis Gas (or syngas) is a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, used as a precursor for producing ammonia, methanol, and synthetic fuels. It serves as a foundation for many industrial chemical reactions, particularly in gas-to-liquid technologies. Syngas is produced through gasification or steam reforming of hydrocarbons and is stored as a gas. It plays a central role in Fischer-Tropsch processes, allowing the conversion of gas into liquid hydrocarbons for fuel and chemical production.
Raw Material
Vacuum Gas Oil. Gas oils refers to oil fractions, from straight-run and cracked origins, whose boiling points range between kerosene and lubricating oil boiling points. Such petroleum distillation products are primarily used as automative fuels and heating fuels. Vacuum gas oil (VGO), specifically, is a more viscous gas oil fraction, which boils between about 420 °C and 570°C. It is obtained from a vacuum crude distillation unit, operating at low, negative gauge pressure.
