PTMEG is produced through the polymerization of tetrahydrofuran (THF), typically derived from butanediol. It is stored as a viscous liquid at room temperature and is directly supplied to manufacturers of specialty materials and elastomers.
MDI. MDI or Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate is a chemical primarily used in the production of polyurethane foams, elastomers, and coatings. It reacts with polyols to form flexible and rigid foams, essential in insulation and cushioning applications. MDI is produced via the phosgenation of methylene dianiline and is stored as a liquid. It is crucial for producing high-performance materials like adhesives and sealants, and its versatility enables its use in automotive, construction, and furniture industries.
