Butadiene Rubber
Butadiene Rubber (a.k.a. BR, PolybutadieneRubber) is a synthetic rubber made from monomer 1,3-butadiene. Being one of the largest volume synthetic rubber produced, this elastomeric polymer can have a variety of different properties depending on the ratio of its microstructural units and its tacticity. It is mostly used in the manufacture of tires due to its resistance to wear. Tire production consumes about 70% of the polybutadiene produced worldwide.

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Butadiene Rubber production costs. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q4 2022).

Polybutadiene Production from Butadiene

This report presents the economics of Polybutadiene production from butadiene in the United States, via a typical solution process. In this process, butadiene is polymerized in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst and a solvent to produce Polybutadiene.

Details: 120 kta United States-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   107 pages   From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BR E11A target a 120 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

Polybutadiene Production from n-Butane

This report presents an economic analysis of an integrated unit for producing Polybutadiene starting from n-butane located in the United States. Initially, n-butane is dehydrogenated to butadiene, using a process similar to Lummus Catadiene. Then, the butadiene is polymerized to polybutadiene via a typical solution process.

Details: 120 kta United States-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   107 pages   From $1,199 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BR E21A target a 120 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

Bio-Polybutadiene Production from Glucose

This report analyses the economics of an integrated plant producing Polybutadiene from glucose in the United States. In this process, glucose is converted to butadiene via a direct aerobic fermentation process similar to the one proposed by Global Bioenergies. Then, the butadiene is polymerized to polybutadiene via a typical solution process.

Details: 120 kta United States-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   107 pages   From $1,199 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BR E31A target a 120 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

Bio-Polybutadiene Production from Raw Sugar

This report analyses the economics of an integrated plant producing Polybutadiene from raw sugar in Germany. In this process, raw sugar is hydrolyzed to glucose and fructose (invert sugars), which are fermented to butadiene via a direct aerobic fermentation process similar to the one proposed by Global Bioenergies. Then, the butadiene is polymerized to polybutadiene via a typical solution process.

Details: 120 kta Germany-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   107 pages   From $1,199 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BR E41B target a 120 kta (kilometric tons per annum) Germany-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
