About Ethylbenzene. Ethylbenzene (a.k.a. EB, Phenylethane) is a colorless liquid with an aromatic odor, insoluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents. It appears naturally in petroleum and coal tar and is also found in manufactured products.

Ethylbenzene Handling. Ethylbenzene is stored and transported in steel containers, away from oxidizing agents, such as perchlorates, peroxides, permanganates, chlorates, nitrates, chlorine, bromine and fluorine. Most of the time, however, it is produced and used in the same site.
