About Cold Drawn Bar
About Cold Drawn Bar. Cold Drawn Bar is a long stainless steel product (relative to its cross-section) available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, produced by cold drawing a hot-wrought bar. It is more versatile than turning as it can be applied to hexagons, triangles, and other complex geometric shapes. On the other hand, some surface imperfections may occur, depending on the surface characteristics of the wrought bar. Cold Drawn Bar represents the most traded cold-finished stainless steel product, having excellent mechanical and dimensional properties.
Cold Drawn Bar Handling. The transports used for bars depend on several factors as the location, weight of the bars, and others. These transports can be: rail, truck and ship.
Cold Drawn Bar Uses. The uses and applications of Cold Drawn Bar may vary according to its specification. Typically, it is traded with an 8-80 mm diameter, and can be cold-formed or cold-finished. The main forms of Cold Drawn Bar are regular quality; cold-heading quality (internal soundness, uniform chemical composition, and freedom from detrimental surface imperfections); and axle shaft quality (not machined or less removal of surface imperfections).
