The price of Chromium Trioxide (United States) increased during June 2025 to 3,360 USD per metric ton, which represents a considerable rise of 13% compared to the previous month’s value. On a year-over-year basis, the prices of Chromium Trioxide (United States) increased modestly by 4%. Meanwhile, the average price of Chromium Trioxide (China) amounted to 2,800 USD per metric ton, from 2,700 USD per metric ton one year earlier. On a month-over-month basis, the price of Chromium Trioxide (China) is 6% higher than the price one month before.

About Chromium Trioxide
About Chromium Trioxide. Chromium Trioxide (a.k.a. Chromium(VI) Oxide) is the acidic anhydride of chromic acid and it is found as dark red flakes, crystals, or powder. Chromium Trioxide is corrosive and is a strong oxidizing agent. It emits toxic chromium fumes upon heating. Chromium Trioxide can cause bronchitis and pneumonia, can affect the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, liver, and immune system, and is also a known carcinogen.
Chromium Trioxide Handling. Chromium Trioxide is transported by rail in tank cars in steel drums, paper bags, fiber drums, and polyethylene drums. Cans with capacities of 25 and 50 kg are also available. It should be stored in tightly closed containers in a dry and well-ventilated place and must be kept away from heat, strong oxidizing materials, any volatile solvents, or products containing alcohol.
