Commodity Production Costs
High Fructose Corn Syrup from Corn Wet Milling

This report presents the economics of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) production from corn via wet milling in the United States. In this process, corn is wet milled to separate the starch from the germ, fiber and gluten. The starch is converted to glucose by enzymatic liquefaction and saccharification, and the glucose is isomerized, enriched and blended to produce HFCS-55.

Commodity Production Costs
High Fructose Corn Syrup from Glucose

This report presents the economics of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) production from glucose in the United States. In this process, refined glucose syrup is isomerized over an immobilized glucose isomerase enzyme, yielding a syrup with about 42% fructose. The syrup is enriched by chromatographic separation and blended to produce HFCS-55.
