Aluminum Price Outlook. The price of Aluminum Alloy (United States) was flat during March 2025. On a year-over-year basis, the prices of Aluminum Alloy (United States) increased modestly by 3%. Meanwhile, the average price of Aluminum Alloy (China) amounted to 2,500 USD per metric ton, from 2,360 USD per metric ton one year earlier. On a month-over-month basis, the price of Aluminum Alloy (China) is 2% higher than the price one month before.
The price of Aluminum Alloy (Middle East) rose slightly throughout March 2025, reaching 2,410 USD per metric ton. The price is 3% higher than the average price in the previous month and 7% higher than the average price one year before. In contrast, the prices of Aluminum Alloy (Europe) increased significantly during March 2025, reaching 2,500 USD per metric ton, which means a rise of 14% from the previous month’s price and a rise of 37% from the previous year’s price.
The prices of Aluminum Alloy (Northeast Asia) experienced a modest rise of 30 USD per metric ton from the prior month's price, to 2,480 USD per metric ton. Such price movement meant a rise of 1% on a monthly basis and a rise of 4% on a yearly basis.
About Aluminum Alloy
About Aluminum Alloy. Aluminum is a metallic element, with atomic number 13, a post-transition metal, member of group 13 of the periodic table. Aluminum is the most abundant metal in Earth’s crust, comprising 8.8% by weight. It is, however, rarely found in its free form, being present in over 270 minerals and ores. It was first isolated in 1824, followed in 1886 by the development of the first industrial production process, which is still widely used currently, the Hall-Héroult process. Aluminum is the third most commercialized metal worldwide, behind only iron and copper. This is explained by its ability to form alloys with remarkable low density in conjunction with high strength and corrosion resistance.
Among the main wrought alloys widely employed are the 5000, 6000, and 7000 series. The 5000 series, featuring magnesium, exhibits excellent weldability and corrosion resistance. Silicon is added to the 6000 series, resulting in alloys known for their structural integrity and versatility, commonly applied in high stress applications. Finally, the 7000 series, strengthened with zinc, is favored for its high fatigue strength and corrosion resistance. As for cast alloys, the A380 and A383 are prominent alloys within this category. A380 has excellent fluidity and castability, while the higher level of silicon and lower copper content of A383 give it better corrosion resistances, ease of casting, good mechanical properties, and dimensional stability.

While the alloys inherit the lightweight advantage of aluminum, their varied compositions demand careful handling. This ensures the preservation of alloy properties during transit and underscores the need for precision in the storage and transportation of these specialized materials.
