Terephthalic Acid (a.k.a. TPA) is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, found as a white and crystalline powder. It is an important monomer in the production of high impact resistance, thermal stability and weather resistance resins such as the polyesters PET and PBT. It is mainly used to produce saturated polyesters, primarily PET (polyethylene terephthalate) followed by PBT (polybutylene terephthalate).
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Terephthalic Acid production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2019).
