Laurolactam is a lactam with the chemical formula C12H23NO. It is the monomer used in the production of certain specialized nylons.

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Laurolactam production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2019).

You can find below reports focused on Laurolactam production processes available in report subscriptions offered by Intratec.

Laurolactam Production from Cyclododecane - Cost Analysis | Laurolactam E11A

This report presents the economics of Laurolactam production from cyclododecane in the USA. Initially, cyclododecane is oxidized to cyclododecanol. Subsequently, the cyclododecanol obtained is dehydrogenated to cyclododecanone. Then, the cyclododecanone is submitted to an oximation reaction with hydroxylamine. Finally, the cyclododecanone oxime produced is converted to laurolactam by Beckmann rearrangement.
