Unlike other indexes, useful only for plants located in the USA, Intratec indexes allow users to update local construction costs in as many as 36 countries, and are suitable for industrial plants from several sectors.

Subscribers also have an online investment estimator, through which current plant construction costs can be easily calculated, using past cost data.

Kindly note that we offer no subscription plans for accessing specific indexes from our database; you must choose among the available subscription plans and coverages.

How are the process plant cost indexes presented calculated?

Intratec Process Plant Cost Indexes (IC Indexes) are based on prices trends of fundamental components of an industrial plant construction such as labor, material, energy and inflation, from several countries.

Intratec's methodology for calculating IC Indexes involves combining a series of specific and general price indexes, evaluated by Intratec consultant's as fundamental for the construction of industrial plants, to reasonably reflect their relative importance.

I need plant cost indexes for countries not covered in your database - what should I do?

If you need plant cost indexes for other countries, not covered in our database, you may submit the request form available at In this case, our experts may work to provide exactly the data you need. They will provide you with a quotation for this the data you need in no more than 2 business days. Of course, since this would be a customized data set, not available in our online database, the quotation for providing the data you need shall be higher than our regular subscription fees.

How often is the data presented in this database refreshed? And when is the data updated?

The plant cost indexes are refreshed on a monthly basis, as new information is obtained. However, it is important to highlight that the frequency which specific regional data is actually updated depends on how often official sources from countries from those regions report that data.

In this context, in the beggining of each month ― typically in the first or second week ― the Intratec team updates plant cost indexes. See the Data Update Schedule.

If I subscribe, how will I access plant cost indexes? Will you send me reports?

Subscribers access plant cost indexes through online charts and tables, accessible in the User Area, at Intratec website. Naturally, the subscriber must be logged in Intratec website (using the same email and password of the subscription) to access the data.

Finally, please note that Intratec does not send reports about the data presented.

Do you offer monthly subscriptions?

Actually not ― kindly note that all subscriptions offered by Intratec are charged on an annual basis.

Do you offer a free full trial?

No - Intratec does not offer free full trials. Kindly note that anyone interested in Intratec online databases has access to a variety of free samples. We provide a full sample for each database, where you can check all data available for a given industrial product (e.g. oil) and try all our database features. In addition, we offer 3-years historical series as extended samples of our data for every item in our database (you must register to check these extended samples.)

We also provide a detailed description of Intratec methodologies, for gathering and processing all data presented in our databases.

Finally, we are positive that those who are interested in Intratec databases are able to decide whether to subscribe or not by taking a look at all material offered for free - the full sample, extended samples, methodologies - so that we do not offer free trials.

How do I cancel my subscription and what happens if I do?

Our customers are entitled to cancel subscription plans at any time. Once you cancel your subscription, you will continue to have access to your subscription plan data until the end of your current billing period.

To cancel a subscription, you should follow the steps below:

  • Login at with your email and password (top-menu)
  • Once logged on, you must click on "Go to User Area" (top-menu)
  • In the User Area, hover the mouse over “Account” (top-menu) and click on "Subscriptions"
  • You should see a list of all of your subscriptions on our website - just click on the cancel link of the plan you are wanting to cancel.

The Intratec team will proceess your cancellation within 2 business days. Upon cancellation, an email will be sent confirming that the recurring billing is interrupted.

How can I use Intratec data? Can I share it with third parties?

The subscriber may, in the course of its business, create content based on Intratec data for internal use only according to "Use & Sharing" statements set out in Intratec Terms & Conditions.

The subscriber of a Standard Plan is not allowed to share Intratec data. The subscriber of a Pro or Business Plan shall have a limited right in the ordinary course of its business to share Intratec data with coworkers, on a confidential basis, according to the respective subscription plan as set out in Intratec Terms & Conditions.
