Price Dynamics. The Sodium Triphosphate price in United States decreased during September 2018 to 1,370 USD per metric ton, which represents a slight decline of 4% compared to the previous month’s value. On a year-over-year basis, Sodium Triphosphate prices in United States remained constant . Meanwhile, in China, the average price of Sodium Triphosphate amounted to 843 USD per metric ton, from 776 USD per metric ton one year earlier. On a month-over-month basis, the Sodium Triphosphate price in China is 0.5% higher than the price one month before.
The price of Sodium Triphosphate in Brazil rose slightly throughout September 2018, reaching 1,070 USD per metric ton. The price in Brazil is 2% higher than the average price in the previous month and 12% higher than the average price one year before. About Sodium Triphosphate. Sodium Triphosphate (a.k.a. Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Tripolyphosphate) is a water-soluble white crystal, marketed as powder or granules and existing in two crystalline forms depending on the production conditions: high-temperature and low-temperature modification. It has been the primary detergent builder since the 1950s, and because of that stands as the most important phosphorus compound commercialized in the world.
Sodium Triphosphate is usually shipped in 25 to 50 kg composite plastic woven or PE-lined paper bags. It must be stored in a dry and well-closed container to avoid moisture absorption from the air.
