About Magnesium Hydroxide. Magnesium Hydroxide (a.k.a. Milk of Magnesia) is a white, water-insoluble, non-toxic crystal, usually commercialized in granules, and an important raw material in the production of magnesium oxide. Natural occurrence is rare and not commercially exploited, being produced by the precipitation of seawater, brines, and other magnesium salt solutions using caustic agents.

Magnesium Hydroxide should be stored in the original container in dry, well-ventilated, and indoor places. It should be away from moisture and at a distance of at least one meter from heating devices. There are no restrictions regarding storage temperature for this material.

Raw materials and the respective production processes employed in the manufacturing of Magnesium Hydroxide are listed below.

  • brine, residual, magnesium-rich + calcium oxide/ dolomite, calcined (precipitation),
  • natural brines + calcium oxide (precipitation),
  • seawater + calcium oxide/dolomite, calcined (salt formation)
