Terephthalic Acid (a.k.a. TPA) is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid carrying carboxy groups at positions 1 and 4. It found as a white and crystalline powder. The TPA is subjected to separation and drying steps, and then sent to hydrogenation to obtain PTA as the final product.
