This report presents an up-to-date, detailed cost analysis of Sulfuric Acid production from hydrogen sulfide gases. The process examined is Wet gas Sulfuric Acid (WSA) process similar to the one owned by Haldor Topsoe. In this process, hydrogen sulfide contained in the feed gas is burned, forming to sulfur dioxide and water. Sulfur dioxide is converted to sulfur trioxide and then cooled to a temperature where it reacts with water in the gas phase and forms sulfuric acid, which is then condensed and concentrated to about 98 wt%.
