Precipitated Silica Production Costs - Q2 2023
Precipitated Silica Operating Costs & Plants Capital Investment
Precipitated Silica (a.k.a. SiO2) is an amorphous form of silica (silicon dioxide), like silica gel and pyrogenic silica. It is a finely divided white powder, soluble in water, composed of aggregates with up to approximately 1 mm in diameter, generally made by precipitation of an alkaline metal silicate solution. Its production started in the 1940s, and, currently, Precipitated Silica has the greatest commercial importance between the three types of amorphous silica.
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Precipitated Silica production costs. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2023).
Precipitated Silica Production
This report presents the economics of Precipitated Silica production from a sodium silicate solution and sulfuric acid in the United States. In the process, the sodium silicate solution is treated with sulfuric acid. The solution is precipitated, filtered, washed, and dried, producing Precipitated Silica.

Azodicarbonamide Production
This report presents the economics of a typical Azodicarbonamide production process from urea, hydrazine hydrate, and sodium dichromate in the United States. In the process examined, urea and hydrazine hydrate react to produce hydrazocarbonamide, which is oxidized to produce Azodicarbonamide.
Details: 0.60 kta United States-based plant | Q2 2023 | 107 pages From $1,999 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Azodicarbonamide E11A target a 0.60 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Potassium Iodide Production
This report presents the economics of Potassium Iodide production from potassium hydroxide, iodine, and coke in the United States. In this process, iodine is absorbed in potassium hydroxide, yielding Potassium Iodide. Potassium iodate is also generated as by-product.
Details: 12 kta United States-based plant | Q2 2023 | 107 pages From $999 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Potassium Iodide E11A target a 12 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Sulfuric Acid from Sulfur (Double-Contact Process)
This report presents the economics of Sulfuric Acid production from sulfur in the United States. In this process, sulfur is burned to form sulfor dioxide, which is then converted to sulfur trioxide. Sulfor trioxide is converted to sulfuric acid by double-contact double absorption (DC/DA) with a high concentration sulfuric acid solution in water.
Details: 1,480 kta United States-based plant | Q2 2023 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Sulfuric Acid E11A target a 1,480 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
