All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q1 2024).
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphate Rock (Dihydrate Wet Process)
This report presents the economics of Phosphoric Acid production from phosphate rock in the United States via a dihydrate wet process. In this process, phosphate rock is digested with sulfuric acid to producing Phosphoric Acid with the precipitation of calcium sulfate dihydrate. Phosphoric acid is further concentrated to a final product containing 54 wt% of P2O5.

The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E11A target a 1,200 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphate Rock (Hemihydrate Wet Process)
This report presents the economics of Phosphoric Acid production from phosphate rock in the United States via a hemihydrate wet process. In this process, phosphate rock digestion with sulfuric acid proceeds in two distinct zones, with the precipitation of calcium sulfate hemihydrate. The Phosphoric acid produced is subjected to a further concentration step to obtain a final product containing 54 wt% of P2O5.

The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E12A target a 900 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphate Rock (Hemidihydrate Wet Process)
This report presents the economics of Phosphoric Acid production from phosphate rock in the United States via a hemidihydrate wet process with intermediate separation of the hemihydrate. The Phosphoric acid produced is subjected to a further concentration step to obtain a final product containing 54 wt% of P2O5.
Details: 1,200 kta United States-based plant | Q1 2024 | 107 pages From $999 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E13A target a 1,200 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphorus
This report presents the economics of Phosphoric Acid production from phosphorus in the United States via a typical thermal process. In this process, elemental phosphorus is burned in a combustion chamber forming phosphorus pentoxide, which is then hydrated to produce Phosphoric Acid containing 54 wt% of P2O5.
Details: 250 kta United States-based plant | Q1 2024 | 107 pages From $999 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E21A target a 250 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphate Rock (Thermal Process)
This report presents the economics of an integrated process for the production of Phosphoric Acid from phosphate rock involving: (1) the production of elemental phosphorus from phosphate rock; and (2) the production of Phosphoric Acid from elemental phosphorus via a thermal process. The final product obtained in this process is Phosphoric Acid containing 54 wt% of P2O5. The economic analysis performed is based on a plant constructed in the United States.
Details: 250 kta United States-based plant | Q1 2024 | 107 pages From $1,199 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E31A target a 250 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Phosphoric Acid from Phosphate Rock (Hydrochloric Acid Route)
This report presents the economics of Phosphoric Acid production from phosphate rock in the United States via a hydrochloric acid route similar to the one developed by the Israel Mining Industry (IMI). In this process, phosphate rock is dissolved by hydrochloric acid, resulting in an aqueous solution of calcium chloride and Phosphoric Acid. The Phosphoric Acid is separated from the solution via solvent extraction and further concentrated to obtain a final product containing 69 wt% of P2O5.
Details: 100 kta United States-based plant | Q1 2024 | 107 pages From $1,199 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Phosphoric Acid E41A target a 100 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

About Phosphoric Acid. Phosphoric Acid is a colorless, odorless, and non-volatile inorganic compund, soluble in both water and ethanol. It is not considered a strong acid, but aqueous solutions can severely irritate the skin and damage the eyes.
Phosphoric Acid Uses. The uses and applications of Phosphoric Acid may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Phosphoric Acid are merchant/fertilizer grade and food or technical grade. The main concentrations marketed for these grades are 75% H3PO4 solution and 85% H3PO4 solution, with 54% and 62% P2O5 content, respectively.
Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.
The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.
Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
