Phenthoate
Phenthoate is an organothiophosphate insecticide. It appears as a colorless crystalline solid, insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohols, ketones, aromatics solvents, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride. It is used for control of aphids, scale insects, jassids, lacebugs, in cereals, maize, rice, coffee, sunflowers, sugar cane, and other crops. Phenthoate is produced by reaction of the sodium salt of O,O-dimethyldithiophosphonic acid with phenylbromoethyl acetate.
The uses and applications of Phenthoate may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Phenthoate are technical grade (90-92 wt%).

Updated Reports Examining Phenthoate Manufacturing Costs

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand Commodity Cost of Production reports analyzing the costs of Phenthoate manufacturing processes. Each report describes an industrial plant based on a specific Phenthoate process. The report also presents an independent analysis of the costs of Phenthoate production, encompassing plant capital costs (capex) and plant operating costs (opex). All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q1 2024).

Phenthoate Production

This study presents the economics of Phenthoate production from EBPA, phosphorus pentasulfide, toluene, and methanol in the United States. In this process, phosphorus pentasulfide is dissolved in toluene and mixed with methanol to obtain O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphoric acid (TPA). The acid is neutralized with ammonia, and finally the resulting ammonium salt reacts with EBPA to produce phenthoate.

Methanol Production from Natural Gas (Combined Reforming)

This study presents the economics of large-scale Methanol production from natural gas in the United States. In this process, natural gas is first converted into synthesis gas (syngas) by means of conventional steam reforming and secondary autothermal reforming. Then, the syngas is converted into Methanol.

Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.

The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.

Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
