Phenethyl Alcohol
Phenylethanol
Phenethyl Alcohol (a.k.a. Phenylethanol) is is a primary alcohol that is ethanol substituted by a phenyl group at position 2. It appears as a colourless liquid, slightly soluble in water, but miscible with most organic solvents. Phenetyl Alcohol is widely found in nature in a variety of essential oils, and is used in the manufacture of synthetic rose perfumes and in the synthesis of rose oils. It is also used as a flavoring agent and as perfumery chemical in cosmetic formulations as detergents, soaps, etc.
The uses and applications of Phenethyl Alcohol may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Phenethyl Alcohol are technical grade; NF grade; and FCC.

Updated Reports Examining Phenethyl Alcohol Manufacturing Costs

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand Commodity Cost of Production reports analyzing the costs of Phenethyl Alcohol manufacturing processes. Each report describes an industrial plant based on a specific Phenethyl Alcohol process. The report also presents an independent analysis of the costs of Phenethyl Alcohol production, encompassing plant capital costs (capex) and plant operating costs (opex). All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q1 2024).

Phenethyl Alcohol Production

This report presents the economics of a typical Phenethyl Alcohol production process from benzene, ethylene oxide, and aluminum chloride in the United States via a Friedel-Crafts reaction. In the process, benzene and ethylene oxide reacts in the presence of Aluminum trichloride, producing an addition product, which is hydrolyzed to the Phenethyl Alcohol.

Aluminum Chloride Production

This report presents the economics of Aluminum Chloride production from aluminum metal and chlorine in the United States. In the process, chlorine gas is passed through molten aluminum, producing Anhydrous Aluminum Chloride.

Details: 10 kta United States-based plant   |   Q1 2024   |   107 pages From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report Aluminum Chloride E11A target a 10 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

Benzene Production from Pygas (Extractive Distillation Process)

This report examines the costs related to Benzene production from pyrolysis gasoline (pygas) in the United States using a typical extractive distillation process. Initially, pygas is fractionated into 3 hydrocarbon cuts. The C6s fraction is then fed to an extractive distillation system, using N-formylmorpholine (NFM) as solvent. to recover benzene.

Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.

The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.

Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
