Oxygen Cost of Production | Q2 2024
Updated Reports Examining Oxygen Manufacturing Costs
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand Commodity Cost of Production reports analyzing the costs of Oxygen manufacturing processes. Each report describes an industrial plant based on a specific Oxygen process. The report also presents an independent analysis of the costs of Oxygen production, encompassing plant capital costs (capex) and plant operating costs (opex). All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2024).
Gaseous Oxygen from Air (Cryogenic Process)
This study provides a techno-economic analysis of a typical cryogenic distillation process for Oxygen production using atmospheric air as the starting material. Oxygen main product and nitrogen co-product are produced as high pressurized gases. The economic analysis presented assumes a plant located in the United States.
Details: 800 MM Nm3a United States-based plant | Q2 2024 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Oxygen E11A target a 800 MM Nm3a (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Gaseous and Liquid Oxygen Production
This report examines the economics of a typical cryogenic distillation process for Oxygen production in a plant located in the United States, using atmospheric air as the starting material. The process presented in this report also produces argon as by-product. Nitrogen and the majority of the Oxygen produced are supplied in gaseous phase. Oxygen is also supplied in liquid phase, as well as all argon produced.
Details: 800 MM Nm3a United States-based plant | Q2 2024 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Oxygen E12A target a 800 MM Nm3a (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Gaseous Oxygen from Air (Vacuum Swing Adsorption Process)
This report presents a feasibility analysis of Oxygen production in the United States, using atmospheric air as the starting material. In this case, a typical vacuum swing adsorption process is applied for the production of low purity Oxygen. In this process, switching beds, each containing two strata, absorb water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen from the air, yielding low purity oxygen.
Details: 40 MM Nm3a United States-based plant | Q2 2024 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Oxygen E13A target a 40 MM Nm3a (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

About Oxygen. Oxygen (a.k.a. O2) is a nonmetallic element and one of the most abundant elements on Earth’s surface, accounting for approximately 23 wt% of the atmosphere, 86 wt% of seawater, and 47 wt% of the Earth’s crust. Under standard conditions, Oxygen is a diatomic gas with molecular formula O2. It is a very important oxidizing agent that forms oxides with most elements.
Oxygen Uses. The uses and applications of Oxygen may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Oxygen are vacuum swing adsorption grade (90 to 93% minimum purity) and cryogenic distillation grade (99.5% minimum purity).
Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.
The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.
Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
