Acrylonitrile Butadiene elastomers are a copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene. As other nitrile elastomers, NBR is manufactured commercially by emulsion polymerization, in form of a solid rubber (solid Nitrile Rubber) or in form of latex (NBR Latex). Manufactured over a range of monomer ratios and molecular weights, nitrile rubbers can have different physical constants and properties - major applications include the production of automotive transmission belts, disposable non-latex gloves, hoses, etc.
