LDPE (a.k.a. Low Density Polyethylene) the first thermoplastic polyolefin used commercially, is one of the three main types of polyethylene. LDPE differs from high density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) primarily due to its unique molecular structure, where large amounts of long-chain branching, impart different rheological behavior in both shear and extension. LDPE offers an unparalleled combination of low cost, ease of fabrication and balance of physical properties (toughness, flexibility and transparency). The first thermoplastic polyolefin used commercially, LDPE is still widely used in a wide range of applications.
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining LDPE production costs. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2023).
