Isobutanol Cost of Production | Q2 2024
Updated Reports Examining Isobutanol Manufacturing Costs
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand Commodity Cost of Production reports analyzing the costs of Isobutanol manufacturing processes. Each report describes an industrial plant based on a specific Isobutanol process. The report also presents an independent analysis of the costs of Isobutanol production, encompassing plant capital costs (capex) and plant operating costs (opex). All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q2 2024).
Bio-Isobutanol Production from Corn
This report provides the economics of bio-based Isobutanol production from corn in the USA using a typical fermentation process. In this process, distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS) are generated as by-product.
Details: 180 kta United States-based plant | Q2 2024 | 107 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Isobutanol E11A target a 180 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Bio-Isobutanol Production from Raw Sugar
This report provides the economics of bio-based Isobutanol production from raw sugar in Germany using a typical fermentation process. Initially, raw sugar is hydrolyzed into invert sugars, which are then fermented to produce Isobutanol.
Details: 180 kta Germany-based plant | Q2 2024 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Isobutanol E21B target a 180 kta (kilometric tons per annum) Germany-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
Bio-Isobutanol Production from Corn Stover
This study presents a techno-economic analysis of cellulosic Isobutanol production from corn stover in the United States using a biochemical process. Initially, corn stover is treated with dilute acid and undergoes ammonia conditioning. Then, the cellulose is enzimatically hydrolyzed to glucose and xylose, which are then fermented to produce Isobutanol.
Details: 140 kta United States-based plant | Q2 2024 | 106 pages From $799 USD
The cost analyses presented in the report Isobutanol E31A target a 140 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

About Isobutanol. Isobutanol (a.k.a. 2-Methylpropan-1-ol, i-BuOH, Bio-Isobutanol) is a colorless, flammable alcohol with a characteristic smell and fields of application closely resembling those of 1-butanol. Isobutanol may also be produced from renewable sources and, in such cases, it may be referred to as Bio-Isobutanol or Green Isobutanol.
Isobutanol Uses. The uses and applications of Isobutanol may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Isobutanol are concentration greater than 99 wt%.
Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.
The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.
Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
