Cyclododecanone is a cyclic ketone that, at room temperature, appears as colorless crystals that are soluble in organic solvents, but insoluble in water. It reacts like an aliphatic ketone. Cyclododecanone is produced by oxidation of cyclododecane with air, in the presence of boric acid catalyst. This reaction also forms cyclododecanol as by-product. The mixture produced can be dehydrogenated in the presence of copper or copper-chromium catalyst on an active support, yielding pure cyclododecanone.
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Cyclododecanone production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (2019/20).
