BPA (a.k.a. Bisphenol A, Diphenylolpropane) is a colorless liquid, with mild phenolic odor solid, insoluble in water and soluble in the great majority of organic solvents. Being a high production volume chemical, with more than 4 million tons produced in 2015, BPA is a starting material in the synthesis of polymers, mainly polycarbonates and epoxy resins. Being used in a wide range of plastic materials, BPA’s importance has increased continually with the growth of the plastics industry since the end of the 1930s.
Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining BPA production. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (2019/20).
