BPA
Diphenylolpropane
Bisphenol A (a.k.a. BPA, Diphenylolpropane) is a synthetic organic compound, which is colorless, flammable, solid at room temperature, with a mild phenolic odor, soluble in organic solvents and poorly soluble in water (0.344 wt% at 83 ºC). It was first synthesized in 1891 by Dianin from the acid catalysed condensation of phenol and acetone and it has been produced industrially to be used as a starting material in the synthesis of epoxy resins since about 1920.

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand reports examining Bisphenol A production costs. Each study describes an industrial plant, including main process units and site infrastructure, and presents an independent analysis of capital and operating costs. All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q4 2022).

BPA from Acetone and Phenol (Hydrogen Chloride Catalyst)

This report presents the economics of Bisphenol A (BPA) production in the United States via a condensation reaction of acetone with phenol catalyzed by hydrogen chloride.

Details: 30 kta United States-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   107 pages   From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BPA E11A target a 30 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

BPA from Acetone and Phenol (Ion-Exchange Resin Catalyst)

This report presents a techno-economic analysis of Bisphenol A (BPA) production in the United States, via a process similar to Dow's QBIS technology. In this process, BPA is produced by the reaction of acetone with phenol catalyzed by a cation-exchange resin.

Details: 200 kta United States-based plant   |   Q4 2022   |   106 pages   From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report BPA E12A target a 200 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.
