Ammonium Chloride
Ammonium Chloride
Ammonium Chloride is a salt that is found as a white, odorless and crystalline powder. It is naturally formed on burning coal dumps and around some volcanic vents. Ammonium chloride can be made from the reaction of hydrochloric acid and ammonia and it is a by-product of many chemical processes, particularly the Solvay Process for production of Sodium Carbonate.
The uses and applications of Ammonium Chloride may vary according to its specification. The main forms of Ammonium Chloride are technical grade available as lumps or granulated; chemically pure (CP) grade; United States Pharmacopeia (USP) grade; and Food Chemical Codex (FCC) grade.

Updated Reports Examining Ammonium Chloride Manufacturing Costs

Intratec offers professional, easy-to-understand Commodity Cost of Production reports analyzing the costs of Ammonium Chloride manufacturing processes. Each report describes an industrial plant based on a specific Ammonium Chloride process. The report also presents an independent analysis of the costs of Ammonium Chloride production, encompassing plant capital costs (capex) and plant operating costs (opex). All reports are based on the most recent economic data available (Q1 2024).

Ammonium Chloride Production

This report presents the economics of a typical Ammonium Chloride production process from ammonia and hydrogen chloride in the United States via direct neutralization.

Ammonia Production from Syngas

This report presents the economics of Ammonia production from synthesis gas (syngas). In this process, hydrogen, recovered from syngas feedstock, and nitrogen, recovered from air, react producing Ammonia. The economic analysis performed assumes a plant located in the United States.

Details: 800 kta United States-based plant   |   Q1 2024   |   106 pages From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report Ammonia E11A target a 800 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

NP Fertilizer Production

This report presents the economics of a typical nitrophosphate process (Odda process) for NP Fertilizer production in the United States from rock phosphate, ammonia, carbon dioxide, and nitric acid. In this process, phosphate rock is digested with nitric acid. Calcium nitrate tetrahydrate is then crystallized and separated. The remaining solution is neutralized with ammonia, generating NP. The product formulation is 22-22-0 (22% N, 22% P2O5, 0% K2O).

Details: 300 kta United States-based plant   |   Q1 2024   |   107 pages From $999 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report NP E11A target a 300 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

NPK Fertilizer Production (Phosphonitric Process)

This report presents the economics of a typical phosphonitric process for NPK Fertilizer production in the United States from rock phosphate, phosphoric acid, ammonia, and nitric acid. Initially, rock phosphate is digested with nitric acid and phosphoric acid. The NP solution generated is then neutralized with gaseous ammonia. To produce NPK potassium chloride or sulfate is finally admixed. The product formulation is 15-15-15 (15% N, 15% P2O5, 15% K2O).

Details: 300 kta United States-based plant   |   Q1 2024   |   107 pages From $799 USD

The cost analyses presented in the report NPK E11A target a 300 kta (kilometric tons per annum) United States-based plant. For those interested in cost analyses considering other plant capacities and/or locations, Intratec offers a customized analysis as an optional feature.

Intratec Methodology. Intratec distilled its expertise, gained from more than a decade of supporting companies worldwide in the analysis of commodities markets and process economics, and developed a consistent report development methodology.

The methodology ensures a holistic, coherent, and consistent techno-economic evaluation, guiding the development of a report that allows readers to fully understand a specific process technology for the production of a commodity. In addition to being based on a common methodology, all Intratec reports that approach industrial processes have a common structure, i.e., indexes, tables and charts share similar standards. This ensures that Intratec’s readers know upfront what they will get and, more than that, will be able to compare technologies addressed in different reports.

Our methodology is continuously tested and proven by the many corporations involved with the commodities sector, R&D centers, EPC companies, financial institutions and government agencies that rely on our reports.
